Consumer Products
We can work with you to take your initial design from concept to reality. From high-performance audio gear to ski equipment, our technical, logistical and production staff have helped clients turn their ideas into products sold in the consumer market.
For example, MTO developed a programmable interval timer for use in training sports teams. We also produced the printed circuit assembly for another advanced training device, which was used extensively by the 2010 World Cup teams. The winning team from Spain had 81 percent of it starters using this device, while 30 percent of all 2010 World Cup teams used this device as well.
Telecommunications
For many years, MTO has been providing RF assemblies to the telecommunications industry. These assemblies are used extensively in cell phone towers, railroad tunnels and underground mines. They’re considered by some as ”black magic” since they require a deep understanding of the nuisances unique to RF circuitry, but our experience ensures they work reliably — no magic required.
We’ve also worked on teleconferencing applications, helping a client develop and prototype some very high-speed circuit boards with proprietary encryption capabilities.
Recreational Vehicles
MTO provided the primary power distribution boards for one of the country’s largest coach manufacturers. We also have supplied the controls for slide outs, step controls and leveling systems for more than 10 years. We have also built prototype printed circuit assemblies for a coach manufacturer as part of its effort to reduce fuel consumption.
Transportation
For clients in the trucking industry, MTO provides integrity testing devices for brake and lighting systems used by large fleets and the military. We also produce on-board truck scales and systems monitoring devices for several other trucking clients. For clients in the aviation industry, we manufacture environmental controls, and external lighting control systems.

Medical
Major advancements are being made in the field of MRI research and assessment tools. MTO has been working for a client that is on the forefront of overcoming problems caused by magnetic noise emanating from an MRI imparts on an EEG machine.
We’re also working with another leading-edge client in developing and refining a device used to irradiate tumors. This advancement will help reduce the impact on cancer patients by more precisely targeting the tumor.
Industrial & Forest Products
Our clients in these segments provide highly technical processing equipment for rugged heavy industrial applications. One of these provides factory mutual-certified spark detection and fire suppression equipment for pneumatic conveying systems.
Other clients combine leading-edge vision, motion control and proprietary optimization algorithms to determine the quality of wood fiber by its optical properties. This information is then processed to determine what portions of the wood should be automatically cut out for scrap. MTO also provides control circuit boards used in metal detection equipment for the forest products industry.
Precision Agriculture
MTO clients are on the cutting edge of agriculture, redeploying existing technologies to help farmers optimize their yields. In one example, a data collection system surveys numerous smaller areas within the field. Each area then receives a custom treatment based upon this information. The system automatically adjusts the watering schedules, as well as varies the rate at which fertilizer is applied. Data is distributed via wireless mesh networks, GSM, CDMA and satellites.
